~ Haiku Game Poem Part IV ~

Riches are within
How do I get them without?
That's where my debts are

That's where my debts are
To those that have shown kindness
Never forgotten

Never forgotten
Images do seem to change
The years erode them

The years erode them
A hard body can go fast
When too seldom used

When too seldom used
Anything can get rusty
Use it or lose it

Use it or lose it
Like exercising the mind
Get those cells working!

Get those cells working
The lazy little devils
Grow fat if ignored

Grow fat if ignored
And who grows fatter each year?
IRS, that's who!

IRS, that's who
Keeps Math alive for us all
Tax forms are coming

Tax forms are coming
Even the devil extracts
his unjustly due

His unjustly due
Is the good ole pound of flesh
Off the middle please

Off the middle please
a little off the hips too
Weight is such a tease

Weight is such a tease
It always plays peek-a-boo
First here and then there

First here and then there
Goes my mind on given days
Just wretched to age ...

Just wretched to age
But the one alternative ..
It is pretty grim

It is pretty grim
When it comes Monday morning
Facing back to work

Facing back to work
Fills the heart with quaking dread
Like a firing squad

Like a firing squad
Fear of death can cause us to
die a thousand times

Die a thousand times
Drive insurance agents nuts.
Who's the winner here?

Who's the winner here
Winning is never easy
but I keep trying ...

But I keep trying
To find life's deeper meaning
Why even bother

Why even bother
with that dirty kitchen floor
Chores! What agony

Chores! What agony
Stems from everyday living
A maid would be nice

A maid would be nice
But I would have to clean first
Else, she look and leave

Else, she look and leave
I would fain give a token
To tempt her to stay

To tempt her to stay
I would ply her heart with love
Would one deny love?

Would one deny love?
Only the once burned, twice shy
Old pain fades slowly

Old pain fades slowly
And the scars always remain
But no one sees them

But no one sees them
Hiding under the bridges
Trolls are so sneaky

Trolls are so sneaky
Possibly like some blind dates
Just go home early

Just go home early
And relax in your own chair
Form fitted comfort

Form fitted comfort
The faithful promise of most
tight undergarments

Tight undergarments
Only accent areas
Not bound completely

Not bound completely
nor wrapped too tightly is the
mind, senior moments?

Mind senior moments
They are nature's reminder
Don't sweat the petty stuff

Don't sweat the petty stuff
You gotta hang tough baby
No matter what comes

No matter what comes
In a hundred years or so
It's all forgotten

It's all forgotten
What? I already forgot
Can you clue me in?

Can you clue me in?
On why snow flakes all differ?
Maybe lost pattern?

Maybe lost pattern?
When God made special people
That gently touch hearts
