~ He Suffered It First ~

You have never had a trial
That Jesus did not go thru first
You've never suffered so much pain
That He did not suffer worse

Hours you've spent on your knees
Cannot compare to His plight
He went to the garden of Gethsemane
and prayed til he bled that night

That bitter cup that He drank
When He surrendered to God's will
And willingly laid down His life
Nailed to the cross on Calvary's hill

The cross was so heavy He stumbled
As He carried it up toward the hill
Then one called Simon took it
It was all to obey God's will

We'll never be able to know
Of just how much it cost
When Jesus lay Himself down
Our sins were nailed to the cross
