In the reaching, life can bring so many things
Such confusion on the way
Error, illness, sorrow
May surround our heart today
A dread to face tomorrow
May feel a conquering force
Strife, rejection, hopelessness
Can seem to be the source
Mysteries, inconsistencies
Come to plague our conscious mind
Our dreams may fill with fear
As peace we long to find

But, hope is holding on
God's way will stay secure
Undaunted, undismayed
We know His love is pure
No power can touch His faithfulness
He will sustain us through
No ill can shake our confidence
That all He says is true
We can take Him at His word
Real faith believes it so
Simply, just because He said it
Is enough for us to know

And then our minds are held
As His love removes the fear
His thoughts replacing ours
Become the miracle to persevere
It matters not today
If tomorrow's all unknown
For the God of this almighty universe
Holds us as His very own
