Home Made Fun
Oh those days that are long gone
by
How I loved the time we had
Never had a thing but home made
fun
But I tell you it wasn't so bad
We'd ride in a dish down snowy
hills
Round and round we'd go
Squealing to the top of our lungs
Enjoying the beautiful snow
We had to hunt for many ways
To make a dream come true
Often it took the twelve of us
To come up with something new
But when the family is as big as
ours
There's always a discard or two
That we could quickly reinvent
Then it would be good as new
Little stick horses were common
At the house where we grew up
Younger brothers loved them
For them it was enough
At times we made our own rag dolls
Stuff'em with leaves and such
Then grab a little pretty cloth
With that we'd dress'em up
Momma had a few home made games
She taught us all to play
When she sat with us and played
them
That would always make our day
What the children need today
Is a lot more home made fun
Where everyone got involved
All took part, none left out, no
not a one
