Hurricane

You come into our lives with a thunderous roll
Trying to keep us in your control.
Into our lives you come with all your wrath
Taking everything with you, that's in your path.

Warnings, telling us to evacuate
Hurry ! Hurry ! there's no time to wait.
So off we go with what is on our back
Leaving all our memories, for there's no time to pack.



And it's off to the highways, which way should we go ?
North, South, East or West, just follow the flow.
But sometimes our destination isn't always right,
For here you come following us into the night.

All the thunder, lightning, wind and rain
Bringing to us much tragedy and pain
Many trees are uprooted, houses blown away
nothing is left, what a tragic day.

Death has passed us by, but for some we mourn
For you have taken loved ones, from our lives they were torn
But we come back home knowing, that you will return again
Not really knowing, from where or when.



We will rebuild our lives and face each new day
Knowing that sometime again you'll be on your way..
For we are a people that are strong and true
Living and rebuilding under skies of blue.

With a peace in our hearts from God up above
He has given to us new strength and love
To carry on our lives anew
And to us we know, He will always be true.
