When I was a little girl
I imagined all the time
I was all grown up
With a house of mine
It was in a secret place
In the corner of the yard
No one lived with me,
But my little dog stood guard
He would bark a bit,
If anyone would come
That would let me know
My secret was undone
So my little dog and me
Would find a brand new place,
I would still pretend I was grown up
Wearing make-up on my face
I had some grown up clothes
I just loved to wear,
Imagined I was a movie star
With blonde and curly hair
But now I'm all grown up
And it's not half the fun
As when I just imagined it,
I sure wish I was young!
