As friends we have met together for years
Today we laughed and talked through our tears
And reminisced how long we have been friends
And when in our heart friendship begins.

As friends we show each other we care
Whenever needed we are always there
We have traveled together mile after mile
And we always remembered to pack a smile.

Love and respect is what friendship is about
Our friendship for each other we never doubt
We trust God's love to guide us each day
And have faith He hears us as we pray.

Yes, in the heart friendship begins
Friends are close to us as each day ends
Youth cannot be recaptured as years depart
But friendship will keep us young at heart.
