Jelly Bean Legend

A bag of jelly beans can tell a story true
Of the Father's special love just for me and you

Green is for the waving palms

Blue for skies above

Brown for the road that Jesus walked
To tell us of His love

A speckled bean for hearts too mean

Red, His blood, that washed us clean

Black for sin He took away
So we could live in heaven always

Purple for the robe He wore
To Calvary for every girl and boy

And white is for the wonder
Of the day He rose with joy



Jelly Bean Prayer

Red is for the blood He shed
Green for growing 'til the end
Yellow for the sun so bright
Orange for the joy of life.
Black is for the sin He bore
White is for His grace for all
Purple for His robe of sorrow
Pink is for our new tomorrow

So if you have a bag of jelly beans
Colorful and sweet
Say the jelly bean prayer today
For an Easter Treat!
