Lilies For A
Loyal Friend
An old familiar
friend
May seem a little commonplace
Just there, just being loyal
With a sweet and gentle face
They may seem unannounced
Passed by some every day
Simply sharing cute tender ways
With no grand words to say

But, when the chips are down
And the night is dark and long
The magnificent may go away
But the dearest friend will still belong
For if the sun is scorching hot
And we're longing for some love
To care throughout a heartfelt need
A loyal friend will be the one

If our culture is
to be transformed, it will happen from the bottom up
- from ordinary believers caring over the backyard
fence.
