~ Lilies Of The Field ~
The beautiful field of lilies
Still sleeping beneath the snow
Very soon it will be spring
And again I'll see them grow
They've had a long, long winters' nap
But soon will rise again
To greet the mornings' soft sunrays
And drink from the gentle rain
In my mind, I see them in full bloom
Heads tossing as they play
In a rainbow of lovely colors
They brighten up each day
I'll dream of them yet a while
As the winter passes on
Then the sun will melt their covering
And the snow and ice will be gone
Ah, 'tis a lovely dream I'm dreaming
All the lilies in my mind
I want to sleep in a lily field
Let them cover me when it's time
Then one day, I shall awake
When I hear the trumpet sound
From 'neath the lilies of the field
I'll rise up from the ground
Then as the "Lily of the Valley"
I also will rise up and then
In newness and in beauty
I will never sleep again
