~ The Little Star ~
There was a star so small indeed
He said, "I would like to feel a
need,
when God's Son comes to earth
Can I be the star to guide to
His birth?"
This small star's glow was a
bright head,
He wanted to be the star that
led
the Wise Men to the glorious
place
and overtake the other stars in
space.
The little star bided his days
in wait,
to be sure he wouldn't be
late...
He counted the hours till that
night,
when the Angel said "the time is
right."
The moment came, the babe was
born;
Shepherds in fields from their
flocks were torn.
Gifts of frankincense and myrrh
they carried,
yet in their direction they
never tarried,
to the manger where Jesus lay
The little star led them on
their way.
Three wise men, their way he did
light,
all other stars were out of
sight
on that first Christmas night.
