Little creature's hatching
In my flower pots
Just a shade of green
they haven't any spots
Little tiny egg shells
broken all around
While the little creature's
Go crawling on the ground
I used to be afraid
When they would crawl my way
But from a friendly neighbor
I learned they liked to play
If you softly sing or hum
Only a note or two
These tiny little creature's
Will stop and look at you
As long as you keep going
They'll hang around and listen
Some will answer back
Their little eyes just glisten
They are a famous little lizard
Very common in the south
I've seen them catch a bug
twice as big as their mouth
For this reason we need them
To help control the bugs
If it were possible at all
I'd give them little lizard hugs
