Mama Gave Me The Ink

Mama, you gave to me the pages
Where you love to look,
You gave to me the pen and ink
To write a very special book

Once upon a lovely time
You said my story all began,
You told me to live on as I write
With my own gifted hand

Each chapter now you read
Of strokes written that are mine,
You want me to journal
Wondrous beauty there to find

Each day you long to turn the pages
And keep giving me more ink,
You love to read each passing moment
My story so unique

The pages will just keep on turning
More life set to unfold,
The book you gifted me at birth
Is one you always love to hold
