~ Missing You At Christmas ~


I sit here quietly thinking
You've been gone almost two years
Another Christmas will come and go
Oh how I wish you were here.

I decorated our house today
In hopes it would bring some cheer
But after all is said and done
All I want is to have you near.

The kids and I picked out a tree
We'll be decorating it tonight
I plan to leave it up for you
Until you no longer have to fight.

This is such a sad time for me you know
My heart is aching for you
Christmas just isn't the same anymore
You coming home is long overdue.

I watch for the mailman all the time
A letter from you brightens up my day
I'm trying to be happy for our kids
I have to be careful with what I say.

I miss you terribly my dearest love
I can't wait until your return
I love you more than I can say
It's for you I continually yearn.

So be careful my dear sweet blessed husband
I want you to return home safely to me
My body aches for your tender touch
I'm sending you all my love this Christmas Eve.
