~ Mom And Dad Were Right ~


When I was a child I didn't
always listen to Mom and Dad,
"Brush your teeth, tie your shoes
and make your bed."

"Did you wash behind those ears?
Do you have soap in there?
Did you let the water out of the tub,
and did you brush your hair?

Although I did as I was told,
it just never made any sense to me, 
"Cross at the light.  Come
straight home from school,
and don't get into any fights."
I might as well have been born grown.

The years have passed so quickly,
now I find that I repeat,
with a little more insight,
those same words to my own

Thanks Mom and Dad, you were right.
