~ Morning Prayer ~

God gave us tears to cleanse the soul
We received laughter to fill out hearts
God gave us nightfall to replenish
God gave sunrises for new starts. 

Upon our waking, the day is fresh
New opportunities around every bend
New people to meet and experiences to have
Plenty of helping hands and hearts to lend.

And yet we wake up every single day
Only by the grace of the Lord
We live our lives and gripe and complain
Forgetful of the price he bore.

 So this morning I thank you God
Come rain, come shine, or come snow
For letting me start all over again
For it’s by your grace I know

 That I was given this brand new day
And I promise to remember the price...
I wake each and every day
Because of your loving sacrifice.
