~ Mother And
Daughter ~
Mother,
I can’t let you go,
please stay with me for a while;
I don’t know how I will live,
if I never again see your smile.
I know that you are hurting,
I will pray for the pain to ease.
I’ll sit by your bed each day,
hold your hand until you sleep.
Remember when I was a child
you’d hold me close to your heart,
and quietly sang me a song;
I never imagined we’d part.
Mother, I can’t let you go,
please stay with me for a while;
I don’t know how I will live,
if I never again see your smile.
My
child, I am weary and tired,
my life is too filled now with pain.
I know you would have me hold on,
but it’s time I went home again.
And though you’ll not see my face,
I’ll never be far from your side,
for Heaven is not so far away,
I’ll stand by you whenever you cry.
So let me go, I need to rest,
I will wait for you at the shore,
and when you cross through the veil,
we’ll not be apart anymore.
My child, I am weary and tired,
my life is too filled now with pain,
I know you would have me hold on,
but it’s time I went home.
