~ My Dad ~

When I was young my dad helped me grow
He taught me all the things I should know
About love, trust, faith and hope
All the things it takes to cope.

My dad was where he needed to be
When sharing his love of the bible with me
He taught me that Jesus died on the cross
And shed His blood for sinners that were lost.

My dad taught with an understanding heart
The things he wanted me to know from the start
Many times my dad thought I did not hear
He would say, Sis, did I make that clear.

I thank God for the things my dad taught me
I still heed them carefully as can be
My dad is smiling at me from heaven above
As he watches over me with love.
