~ My Hearts Prayer ~


When I was all but three
I crawled upon my Daddy's knee,
Sucking my little thumb I dreamed
Only childhood fantasy.

Those years have all long gone
With the innocence of youth,
I want gladness for the sadness
To know a grown-up truth.

For children who are hurting
For all the folks, with shadows lurking
I have a prayer to share
With my kin and anyone out there.

We got to stop now, to listen to our heart
Got to stop this tearing all apart,
God up above, is so near with His love
But He won't push it, for He will never shove.

We get all distracted by illusions cheap
And miss the real joys from digging deep,
Takes lots of grit to always want to try
Doesn't change overnight, and so we cry and cry.

But, God heals broken hearts, He's been healing mine
Just got to trust, it's all in His time,
No disaster's going to flatten God's family
Because He is holding us eternally.

It's pain that we're all scared of
We run from it in fear,
We want to be safe and loved
But does anybuddy hear...

If we will just be still, God whispers, I am near
I will keep your heart, for you are very dear,
Rest now, for I have you in My hand
All is working for your good in My loving plan.

If you could see what I see
You would trust Me in your sorrow,
For with Me as your security
There's only hope in your tomorrow.

The dread we dwell on from our yesterdays
Might have a vice like grip , yet shall we bravely say,
God loves me and everything's forgiven
So now I can get on with real eternal living.
