May I see while the sun is shining
All that glows for me to find
May I learn to understand the secrets
While inspired is my mind
May I meditate on life
To learn all my God may say
May I listen very closely
While there's light within the day
May I sing the songs I know
While the words are filled with hope
May I listen for eternal music
And savor every lasting note
May I reach to touch another
Though my pain be very great
For what use is pain to me
If it's grace should come too late
May I use my lips to bless
While love is in my heart
So the words I compose to share
Will be God's work of art
May I ask for eternal wisdom
So my life is filled to give
Only everlasting love
Every moment that I live
Faith is to the soul what life is to the body.
Prayer is to faith what breath is to the body.
How a person can live
and not breathe is past understanding,
and how a person can believe
and not pray is beyond comprehension too.
