New Friends ~
Sitting outside under the shade of my big oak tree
Two squirrels climbed down right in front of me
They were on a hunt for nuts you see
The one doing the chatter must have been a she.
Those squirrels found acorns all over my yard
Scampering back and forth they never got tired
One day they stopped and moved closer to me
And realized I would not hurt them, you see.
Each day when they climbed from the tree
They seemed to be looking for me
Oh, the fun of watching them never ends
And God has given me two new friends.
