There is something very special
We are learning every day,
It is all about the waiting
To be shown a better way.
Most every time in life we find
God has a different plan,
And it is usually upside down
To the one we can understand.
For we may think that joy is found
When life is free from pain,
But, God says there is another way
For us to know pure gain.
It is only in the school of pain
Deep in the darkness of the night
We will learn the comfort of real trust,
And find renewing light.
For it may only be when
We are still and no longer able to sing,
That to our empty heart
A new song God will bring.
