~ Now I Lay Me Down ~
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my family to keep.
If they're gone when I wake
I pray the Lord their souls to take.
Keep them in your sheltering arms
Forever protect them from all harms.
Watch them with a loving hand
As they walk your glorious land.
Guard them all throughout the day
Lord I understand if they can't stay.
My eyes with joy will shed tears.
But I am thankful for all the years.
They must go to their home
And walk the path that they were shown.
Please guide their feet along the way.
Please in heaven let them stay.
I'd rather them be with you
Always doing what they should do
Than turning from your eyes
Only to be by my side.
So now I lay me down to sleep
For my family I will weep
But with glory, love, and faith
Knowing with you they are safe.
