~ One Day Soon! ~

As hard as I seem to try
Can't stand this southern heat
I've tried so much to fool myself
But reality I just cannot beat

I dream of going home
Up north where the cool breeze blows
But the more I get ready to go
The more my effort slows

It's like sliding backward on a hill
With no place to catch your fall
But I am determined to find a way
And forget about this all

One day soon you'll find me gone
To the place my heart desires
A place where I can roll in the grass
And watch the shooting stars

Where I can tip toe thru the greenery
No briers to torment me
I will get away from here:
You just wait and see!
