Our Favorite Thing
I sit here in ponder
How my life joins with yours
With a distance too far
Through a myriad of doors
Yet, if you could come visit
Sweetly walk up my path
How gladly would I
Lift the latch of my heart
But how can this be
When locked are our feet
And with no way to fly
How can our hearts meet
And what is there common
If our ways are unknown
My traditions so different
And yours I can't own
What might make us one
On this earth that we share
And what favorite things
Will cause us to care
Yet, a butterfly here
Is a butterfly there
Might we have more in common
Than all that is rare
God's heart has encapsulated
The world in His love
So His arms hold us tight
To make us as one
The wonder you know
Is the same beauty I grasp
All the favorite we share
Is the love that will last

The miles cannot separate our hearts
So far and yet so near, it's you I always miss
Thinking about you is one of my favorite "thinks".
