~ The Person In The Mirror ~
As I stood and looked into my mirror
A stranger looked right back at me
I did not recognize that body or face
And it was laughing out loud you see.
She had replaced me with so many wrinkles
On what was once smooth creamy skin
And when I looked at her more closely
I saw all the hair she had put upon my chin.
Then I asked myself this question, friend
What did she do with my skin tight blue jeans
The ones that made me look much slimmer
She traded with stretch elastic seams.
And what used to be such pretty blonde hair
She had replaced with silver grays
And it looks as if my middle age spread
She declares will go it's own merry way.
Yes, this stranger staring back at me
From the long mirror standing so tall
Has my looks and is wearing my clothes
But friend I would say, she is having a ball.
