~ Resolutions ~
Resolutions for the New Year
are made, only to be broken.
Resolved, to do, to be,
then stalemate, only joking
It's not what I want to be,
don't misconstrue.
It's what's the good in it,
For me and, maybe you.
I picture myself perfect,
noble, upright like a King.
I love myself,
did you see my wings?
The halo is shiny,
my smile so bright,
Sparkling, welcoming,
please don't take flight.
God, don't misunderstand me,
I'm only saying this in a kidding way.
Really, I'm only yours,
My tongue got carried away.
Your love, compassion,
your people, the church.
My heart knows where I belong.
it took awhile to end my search.
Thankful and with faith,
knowing the whole truth.
Your son, Jesus Christ died,
to save us, the uncouth.
I know no other,
whose love makes my heart beat.
God, my Father,
makes my life complete.
