~ Spring Has Come ~

Each day of life I gathered up
a great deal that I had found
Never comprehending
how much I'd tote around

I walked along the path as usual
choosing this and that,
Thinking it was as I needed
expecting to be glad

icon

My heart was full to overflowing
then why did I feel sad
With so much to be grateful for
and a worth in all I had

I struggled on with fortitude
Trying all my best
To make it work, to get more courage
But, was there any rest

icon

One day, my load too heavy
I felt a cry deep down inside
For something wasn't making sense
no matter what I tried

'Tis in that stillness, I remembered
a love from long ago
'Twas as a child I heard it
how a heart could have a home

icon

With a Father who would love me,
would I need so much at all
When fulfillment could be found
in One to make me whole

I read about His death for me
of true life that never ends
If I but chose His precious love
He'd be my forever friend

icon

So, I emptied out my heavy heart
and gave it all to Him
The darkness slipped away
and I knew He'd come on in

Now spring is mine to always keep
for real love has made me whole
New life within my Savior Lord
is all that I had hungered for

Soft forever whispers from

Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest
I delight to sit in His shade,
and His fruit is sweet to my taste.
He has taken me to the banquet hall,
and His banner over me is love.
See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land.
The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come....my beautiful one, come with Me."

Song of Solomon 2:3,4,11-13
