God gave each of us this new day
To use to the best of our abilities
What we choose to do with it friend
Is up to each one of us, you and me.
He gave us the flowers and the trees
He gave us the stars and the moon
He gave us the air that we breathe
And he gave us a sweet sweet song.
He gave us the land we walk on
He gave us the morning and night
He gave us the bright sunshine
He gave each one of us our life.
He also gave us a family to love
And he also gave us our friends
Because he knew we needed them
Because on them we at times depend.
You have been my inspiration friends
In the thought and words I send in poems
You have been a shoulder I can lean on
When things in my life at times go wrong.
