~ This Treasure We Are Given ~

God grants to us a friendship
A gift for you and me
And then we choose each day
What wonder it will be

Soft words of gentle love
Sharing one to one
A little bit of cheerful joy
A bunch of silly fun

Some comfort in the sad times
A word or two to lift
When spirits sink so very low
This all can be our gift

To walk in Jesus' footsteps
Reach out with loving hand
Touch someone with His kindness
To show we understand

To care in every pleasure
And every heartbreak too
To pray through every hardship-
That they would do for you

This treasure we are given
The gift to dry a tear
Now that friend is sent from heaven
As someone very dear.
