I often sit and let my mind wander
Back to the glory of the olden days
When people helped their neighbors
And the children were allowed to pray.
Yes my mind wanders way back when
We honored the old red, white and blue
When we could walk the streets at night
And we wore black and white saddle shoes.
I remember the bell bottom pants
And the cute little poodle skirts
I remember the black and white TV
And making mud pies out in the dirt.
Can you remember catching lightening bugs
And playing hide and go seek in the dark
Or playing a friendly fun game of baseball
Or going swimming at the pool in the park.
Oh whatever happened to those old days
When this world was so filled up with love
When we were not afraid to speak our piece
And everyone believed in the Lord up above.
