~ Three Cords ~

You stand in faith, and faith alone;
So straight your way, your faith so strong.
And I stand in faith, strong and true.
Together in faith, we stand as two.

And the Holy Spirit within us abides,
To turn all the turbulent, troublesome tides.
So, if we take the Spirit with us, you and me,
Along with His Spirit, we two shall be three.

Where one is strong, two double the strength,
And it would be hard, our calling to sink.
But if the Spirit within us we two take,
A cord of threefold will be impossible to break!

So, as on our journey, we start out anew,
His Spirit coming first, and then me and you,
Where ever we go, where ever He sends,
It will be we three until this life ends!

For where ever you go, I will go, too;
Where ever you live, I'll be there with you!
And your people, my people, also shall be.
And your God IS my God, throughout eternity.

Where ever you die, and are laid 'neath the sod,
There I, too, will die, and be raised up by God.
For this and much more, would our God do,
If, but by death, we part, me and you!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (KJV)
9) Two are better than one; because they have a good
reward for their labor,
10) For if they fall, the one will lift his fellow;
but woe unto him that is alone when he falleth, for he
has not another to help him up.
11) Again, if two lie together, then they have heat;
but how can one be warm alone?
12) And if one prevail against him, two shall
withstand; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Ruth 1:16-17 (KJV)
16) ....Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return
from following thee, for whither thou goest, I will
go; and whither thou lodgest, I will lodge. Thy people
shall be my people, and thy God my God.
17) Whither thou diest, I will die, and there I will
be buried; the Lord do this to me and more, also, if
aught but death part me and thee!
