~ Together For Thanksgiving
~
The day is here and
we're grateful to those
Who have baked with
lots of care,
We give our thanks
to God
For all that we can
share.
Oh, we so wish you
could be here
Gathered with us at
this special time,
While we enjoy sweet
company
Of family as we
dine.
Thanksgiving is a
precious occasion
But how we sure long,
For those we love so much
To be home where they belong.
We'll try to smile, for you would say
Enjoy each moment and be glad,
Don't miss out on being happy
Or for me be too sad.
Grandies and you, may be missing now
Johnny, Uncle Fred or little bub,
The table is so empty
Without dear ones we love.
But, though each may be absent
These dear faces we still see,
As we sit at the table
With us here, you always will be.
For every time we remember
That day we'll celebrate on high,
When we have thanksgiving together
Forever home in a star-lit sky.
