~ Too Much Of A Friend? ~
When does being a friend
Get to be too much?
Sometimes you get so drained,
From doing a whole bunch.
How about the time you talked
For hours into the night,
Convincing a friend that ending her life
Just would not be right.
And then there was the friend,
That was oh so very ill,
And oh how you worried so,
My, how you had your fill.
Then you didn't hear a single word
For days or weeks on end,
And you thought you were so close,
So to them a card you sent.
This is the one you love so much,
And you thought they loved you too,
But they shut you out like you don't exist,
Oh, just what are you to do?
There is the one who's pet died,
That they loved, oh so well,
You hurt so deep inside for them,
But they won't even let you tell.
Sometimes you wonder, if from this world
You would disappear,
Would anybody miss you,
Or would anyone shed a tear?
