~ Twilight's Dream ~
Cloistered near a setting sun
Where things of reverence go
She settles on the lowest rung
Watching moon and shadows grow
Longing to be primordially free
Wild shoot, set loose upon the wind
Here was her chance, her soul could flee
Wondering where the journey's end
Watching sun bleed horizon, red
Dusk helps night don her blue gown
Stars unbuttoned, slipped o'er night's head
God was everywhere, around
One could feel it in the rush, the hush
The silence of the twilight spreading
River bedding down, moss lush
A gentle dark, no creature dreading
In the distance, long and low
Pipes melodiously were playing
She felt the urge to run, to go
To where the angels might be praying
Once there, in light, her soul is caught
In brilliance from above
Opening eyes, she 'sees'...
Bright evidence of God's pure love

Sweet dreams fair one...
then rise to greet the joyous dawn
for perfect love has come
