The bare tree looks as if it's etched
Against a cold gray winter sky
Without the leaves the limbs look misshaped
It's really hard for me to describe.
The birds don't seem to sing their songs
Like they did when it was springtime
They're all huddled together in the tree
They're waiting for the sun to shine.
April is just a few months away
It heralds in the warmth of the sun
The birds and the trees come alive once again
The winter season is finally done.
But in the meantime I look out my window
And see everything stripped away
The winter has done it's job this year
Oh how I long for the warm summer days!
