The darkness fell about me
My feelings couldn't feel,
I lost the movement, beauty, my wings
Beat, beat, cry, but none could heal.
My eyes, film over, cannot see
A net of bondage, woebegone
Struggling alone, fight, fight, the power,
Grasps, the liberty is gone.
The light, shutters, bars me out
Like lashes from a raging fire,
As sound of rushing wind, billows, billows
Tearing down in blackest mire.
No peace, no peace, gasping beat
The air, air, for mercy, cry,
But, none hear the words, I cannot say
And none will hear the why.
Raw death, stench, ripping life
Away, the shadow, shroud,
Where now, no life blood, future,
But waves lap, lap, incessant sound.
Weep here, weep darkness,
Weep paradise, majesty, bend, bend, low
Collapse here, broken, nightmare-
There is no-where to go.
But, Lord, we cry a miracle-
This time, it is too much, too much is
Broken, buried, lost beneath the gavel-
Oh Lord, we need Your touch.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me...
to give unto them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness
