To our dearest Gran so kind
You've penned a loving lifetime
note,
All about what is ahead for us
Though you didn't realize that
you wrote.
We warmly smile as we play
with your pearls
And your collections very old,
But there is some other treasure
That we always want to hold..
Everything you have causes us
to reminisce
On wonders that money cannot
buy,
And this we thank God for all
the more
Though you may wonder why.
Some of your things may be
outdated
And the pictures upon the wall,
But there's something more
special to keep
Our own we want to call.
For all that causes your heart
to glow
Even more beautifully
than anything you do,
And makes of you so loved
We will keep, always as brand
new.
For you give of this so
naturally to us
Even more than all you could
say,
Bringing sweetest memory of your
delight
To bless us every day.
For all that makes the whole of
you
Are symbols of the inner you we
cannot see,
The beautiful heart you give us
Grandma
That you know will last for
eternity.
