~ Why Do I Feel Lonely? ~

Lord, I'm feeling so lonesome
Tho' many dear ones are close by
I just don't understand it at all
Explain the reason to me...Why?

Why does a feeling this bad
Sweep over me now and then?
Is it some wrong I've done
Or somewhere I shouldn't have been?

Just let me know sweet Jesus
So I can make amends
If I need to go down on my knees
And repent all over again?

Lord, your way is a joyful one
It's not a lonesome walk
Please lend an ear to me,
Oh Lord, I do need to talk

I can't take the chance of falling
And find myself out of your grace
The desire of my heart, oh Lord
Is to look on your beautiful face

So please take this feeling away
Put a glad song there instead
One that will be praise to you
For that precious red blood you shed

You must have felt so alone
That day on Calvary's hill
You carried the weight of the world
Made no mention of how you did feel

If this is a part of my cross
That I must carry each day
Then I will not question any more
But please Lord, lead my way!
