As I sit here gazing into space
And wondering what to do
I decided I'd take the time
To send a poem to you!
You are a friend so dear
One I'll never forget
To know you is to love you
Not meeting you sooner
Is my only regret
You listen so intensely
When I need a listening ear
And many times I need a hug
I can count on you to be there
The Pleasure of having a friend
Especially one like you
Has to come from God
