~ The American Way ~
On one of the news shows
A columnist said she’d heard
A statement from an eight year
old
With some of those wisdom
words.
She was asked what she’d say
To those, at each other’s
throat
"Why don’t you quit your
fighting?
She said, "And just get out
and Vote!"
And after all these battles
That lead to Election Day
All of us must work together
Cause that’s the American way.
