~ An Angel To Me ~
He was born a little early,
His brain a little slow,
Doctors said he wouldn't learn much,
There'd be things he'd never know;
But I just couldn't give up
On this special little guy,
Even if they said it was hopeless,
I knew I had to try!
He grew in size and proportion
To that of all his peers,
I prayed as he was growing
Throughout his childhood years;
And when he started school that fall,
I knew he was afraid,
Of the things the other kids would think,
The things that they would say.
I encouraged his development,
As he learned all that he could,
Though, be a normal kid in school
I knew he never would.
But he excelled beneath my loving care,
Out passing expectations
And graduated in the fall,
THEIR'S the higher education.
A genius he will never be
Or normal by no means,
But with a heart of gold,
And a loving soul.....
He'll ALWAYS be...
An Angel to me!
