I am sitting in the sunshine
Pondering memory of you,
Of the friendship we enjoy
Sharing love so true.

 

The fun we have exchanging secrets
Gives life a precious pleasure,
Secure in our blessed world
Under God's blue sky forever.
 
The years may be swept away by time,
But are kept forever in our mind,
Ours alone to hug to our heart
Dearest friend of mine.
 
I cannot come to you
Nor you reach arms to me,
But our love remains the same,
Though your face I may not see.

In another time and place
We would together be,
Just as if we'd never been apart
Friends forever, you and me.
