A Broken Arrow

I hand to you a broken arrow,
laid gently at your feet,
for a symbol of peace among us all,
nothing to compete.......

Our lives were taken over,
we held our heads up high,
we knew that there was comfort
from our Spirit in the sky.

We never shouted "wrong!"
nor said "minority!"
We did what Indians do,
with pride and dignity....

Forgiveness we have in our hearts,
for the spirit there resides....
Just understand that we too,
believe in that Great Spirit in the sky....

A broken arrow I hand to you,
so you will understand,
We never wanted all the chaos,
we wanted peace throughout this land.....
