~ Cherokee Woman ~

There is a woman that is so very special to me
            This special woman is a Cherokee

The Father gifted her with wisdom and a healing hand
People from all the nations come to her 
From all across the land

This special woman has become like a true sister to me
      Yet her beautiful heart is pure Cherokee

        I wondered why she would help an old Mohawk Warrior, like me...
    You know it wasn’t that long ago
our tribes were enemies

Yet she helps me to walk my Red Road
with honor and pride
      Whenever I have troubles she’s right there
at my side

She helps me with the darkness
brought on by the PTSD
    Her words of wisdom like God’s light
shining down on me

I hold in my heart a very special love for her
it’s down deep inside
   For she has brought back to my spirit
both honor and pride

I thank the Father every day
for this Cherokee woman he did send
  The beautiful hearted woman I call my sister,
Free Wind.
