From out across a distant land
comes a creature, part wolf, part man
Perhaps a myth ... but a tale still told
about a mystical creature of old

A man by day, but a frightening sight
when seen by the moon's shadowy light
Let your fearful hearts hearken
when day ends and it begins to darken ...

There's ancient songs gypsies once sang
about the beast's claws and sharp fangs
And there's legends still written
about man becoming wolf once bitten

Take heed, friends, for with one small bite
you too become a creature of the night
With the coming of the full moon
this pure hearted man will change soon

Once the man a wolf became
no longer can man the wolf now tame
With cunning plans most foul ...
the wolf man begins his nightly prowl

Should your eyes but feast
upon this ghastly beast
Would your trembling heart fear
As the beast beacons you near ...?

Til the full moon begins to wane
locked doors and shuttered windows remain
for they know the wolf man is on the prowl
from the chilling sound of his beastly howl ...

This is story your innocent hearts may not believe
but will you venture out on a full moon's eve ...?

"Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers
by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms
and the autumn moon is bright..."
Curt Siodmak
(From the old black and white movie starring
Lon Chaney Jr. "Wolf Man:)
