I walked a long and dusty
road
and carried a heavy load
The folks I met not always
kind
Some are bad, some are good
Some just doing the best they
could
And I say, 'wanna meet a
friend of mine?'
I've been all around this land
doin the best I can
Doing what the Lord told me to
do
And the faces that I see
Are as worried as can be
And I say 'You need my Jesus
too'
If you see me passing by
and you should wonder why
I wear a smile upon my face?
Just let the Lord come in
Let Him wash away your sin
By His love and His amazing
grace
I've got a story now to tell
to lost people everywhere
Won't you come and let me talk
to you?
I will tell you about the Lord
Teach you how to trust His
word
How He will make you happy too
Then I'll be on my way
to that land of endless day
Where the Saviors precious
smile I'll see
Then I'll hear Him say 'well
done'
'Child, a crown of life you've
won,
for the souls that you have
brought to me'
