~ Every Breath ~
I tip toe quietly into
the room,
I still am in awe and amazed.
I still can’t believe you’re mine;
I watch every breath you take.
I silently watch your eyes flutter
and you smile with the smile I love;
as dreams run ‘round in your head,
I give thanks to my Father above.
I know now that there is a heaven,
for I look in your face and I see,
a spirit I knew long ago,
before we were you and me.
You chose me to be your mother,
an honor I wear daily with pride,
as I guard every breath you take,
as I look in your innocent eyes.
And someday you’ll leave my arms,
to find your place in this world;
But with every breath I take,
I’ll watch over my sweet little girl.
