Welcome dear friend,
Come in through the back door
Let's share in my kitchen together,
Some unforgettable aromas
Of love's warmest pleasures.
On the table are my roses
Drenched in morning dew,
Tuck your nose into their fragrance
I picked them all for you.
Then prepare your tender senses
To receive the wafting smell,
Of the blueberry muffins ready
Morning tea to tell.
Today it was quite chilly out
So, for you there's heartwarming soup,
Hear it bubbling, then ladled out
Your perfect taste to suit.
For dinner I might bake some apples
Buttered cinnamon on top,
Ah, that will be a treat to savor
With sweet custard, steaming hot.
Now, just hold still and sit a spell
Hot chocolate is to come,
Sip those marshmallows every drop
For now our blessed day is done.
