~ God's
Canopy ~
Majestic sunset bleeding down
Magenta-pink and red
Horizon's fiery, crimson crown
I gaze -- my soul is fed
Twilight, soon, will blanket all
Her in-between blues bidding
So brief a time she'll come to call
As, daily, seems befitting
Stars will toe dance, one-by-one
Across the stage of night
They'll twinkle brightly, every one
With moon nowhere in sight
For a moment all will cease
My breath, my heart, my envy
Sweet surrender, sweet release
I own what God does lend me
Bright blessings be to those who see
The heavens, full of wonder
Who stand in awe and reverie
It's God's canopy we're under
